34: gender predicting

DSC01809

Now that it is getting farther along in the pregnancy, I figured it was a good time to look at some of the old gender predictors to see how we’re faring.   I’m feeling really sure that it is a girl (except for the occasional worry that if it IS a boy, we’ll have some shopping to do!) and trust that the ultrasound technician was right, but it’s fun to see what they say about ‘how pregnancy is on me’ and what it means for the babe.

If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? A girl.

I sleep more on my left side because of which side of the bed I sleep on and using a body pillow.  I don’t really have a preference otherwise.   Boy.

Extreme nausea means you are having a girl.

None.  Boy

If your hands are dry, you are having a boy; soft -- expect a girl.

Dry, dry, dry.   Boy

If you're craving citrus, you're having a girl.

Heck yes… see here for my grapefruit smoothie!!  Girl.

If your skin breaks out, expect a girl.

Lately it has been but I thought it was because I’ve been feeling stinking hot and sweaty.  Perhaps it’s her!  Girl.

If you feel graceful during pregnancy, you'll have a girl. Clumsy? It's a boy.

Graceful – no pregnant waddle for me!  Girl.

If you gain weight in your face, it means you're having a girl.

Borderline.  I’ll say yes.  Girl.

Craving salt? Expect a boy. A little something sweet? You're having a girl.

Craving sweet as in fruit. Yum.  And ice cream occasionally!  Girl.

If your right breast is larger than the left, you are having a girl. If the left is larger, a boy.

Right seems larger.  Never noticed a difference in size before though…yes I just checked. lol.  Girl.

Feeling extremely moody? Expect a girl.

Nope.  Other than crying at some commercials.  Boy.

If baby is low, expect a boy. High, it's a girl.

High and in my ribs, thankyouverymuch.  Girl.

If you're carrying in front, it's a boy. All around your middle? A girl.

All in front like a beach ball.  Boy.

Dangle a chain with a charm over your palm. It is swings back and forth: boy. In a circle: girl.

It was swinging back and forth BUT it did the same for a friend and they had a girl.  Boy.

How would you show someone your hands? Palms up? It's a girl. Down? A boy.

Palms up.  They look less chubby that way. :)  Girl.

Hang a ring on a chain over your belly. Swings back and forth? It's a girl. In a circular motion, a boy.

What?  I just said above that straight means girl…  Belly was the same as the hand for me and was a BIG pendulum motion.  Girl!

If a toddler boy shows interest in your belly, you'll have a girl. If he ignores you, it's a boy.

I haven’t been around many but no toddler boys have gawked, so I guess boy.

Guess the baby's sex by eating garlic. If the smell seeps out of your pores -- boy. No scent -- girl.

No scent, thankfully, because I’m still loving the garlic!    Girl.

If you pick up a key by the round end, you're having a boy. If it's by the long end? A girl.

Right in the middle. Lol.

If your age and year of conception are both even or odd, it's girl. One even, one odd means a boy.

23 and 2009.  Both odd.  Girl.

If the baby's heart beats more than 150 times per minute, you'll have a girl. Less than 150, a boy.

Never been below 150.  Girl.

A child tends to be of the same sex as the parent who is less stressed at the time of conception.

No idea.  I guess I was less stressed as Craig was dealing with predeployment training with the useless NSE.  Girl.

If you dream about having a girl, you will wind up having a boy and vice versa.

No baby dreams. :(  At least not where they have a gender.

Boy = 7    Girl =13!!!

I thought it was a lot more even the last time I took one of these!  I guess the ultrasound tech was right!

Hehe...this "test" is too funny! So glad your results came out girl! I took it as well and though I didn't do the dangeling chain thing - I dominated with BOY. That's what I feel I'm having. We'll see! I go for my ultrasound this coming Thursday. Praying the baby will "show off" as we have to pay out of pocket bc I'm still not on OHIP yet. I'll let you know if the old wive's tales proved (sp??) right for me or not!
