50: fathers day

I hope everyone had a wonderful day today with their Dad’s.  I’m seeing mine next Saturday, but I spent the day with my Stepdad and family and thought a lot about the dad-to-be in my life.

Craig and I have not yet welcomed our little bundle of joy, however I have already seen some rare and unique qualities in my hubby, both in our marriage and in the past few months of  ‘pre-parenthood’  that have given me a lot of confidence regarding his ability to parent and lead our family.

I’d like to write a letter to our baby girl about why she is so lucky to have Craig as her Dad and I’m hoping I can convince him to do the same.  They would make a great addition to her baby book, and would be fantastic for each of us to read.

I think your idea is wonderful, Jen.

My parents started a keepsake trunk for each of their five girls. From the time we were born, they placed our first toys, baby books, report cards from school, special mementos, etc. in the trunks.

Each of us received our trunk, with all those memories of our lives to that point, when we got married. I can't tell you how special it is to me. I did the same thing for my two children.

And I know that one day, being able to read a loving letter from you and Craig will be special to your son or daughter.

Blessings,

By the way, don't forget about the linky parties at the cottage this week:
